FlashGel® System – Technology Overview
The FlashGel® System is an advanced electrophoresis solution for rapid DNA and RNA analysis. It enables quick screening of up to 32 samples without the need for traditional agarose gel preparation. Designed for speed and simplicity, the system separates DNA in less than 5 minutes. The FlashGel® System allows real-time observation of DNA migration right at the bench without the need for a darkroom or UV light. Compared to conventional agarose gel electrophoresis, FlashGel® Electrophoresis uses 5- to 20-fold less nucleic acid, saving time, reagents, and sample volume.
The complete FlashGel® System includes:
- Precast FlashGel® Cassettes
- FlashGel® Dock for running and visualizing samples
- FlashGel® Camera for easy image capture
- FlashGel® Consumables (DNA/RNA loading buffers and markers)
Cassette Formats: Standard vs. FLX
The FlashGel® System supports two cassette types:
- Standard FlashGel® Cassette specific for DNA or RNA: Agarose with integrated nucleic acid stain; compatible with conventional DNA or RNA loading buffers.
- FlashGel® FLX Cassette: Requires FlashGel® DNA or RNA Prestain Loading Buffer; supports both DNA and RNA separation and offers an extended shelf life of up to 24 months for greater flexibility.

When referred to as a product, the FlashGel® System Kit (cat. no. 57067) is a complete starter package that includes all essential components to begin using the technology:
