Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Young Science Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy in accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act and Article 27-2 of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc., in order to protect personal information of data subjects and prevent infringement of their rights.

This Privacy Policy shall take effect on December 18, 2025. In the event of any amendment, the Company will provide notice on its website at least seven (7) days prior to the effective date of such change and will notify data subjects when obtaining consent.


1. Purpose of Processing Personal Information

The Company processes personal information for the following purposes. If the purpose of processing is changed, prior consent will be obtained.

  • Website Membership Registration and Management: Identity verification, service provision, maintenance and management of membership status, prevention of improper use, delivery of notices and announcements, handling complaints, and record retention for dispute resolution
  • Provision of Goods or Services: Delivery of goods, service provision, issuance of invoices, content provision, customized services, payment processing, settlement, and debt collection
  • Marketing and Advertising: Development of new services, provision of event and advertising information (separate consent required), and offering participation opportunities
  • Personal Information of Children Under 14: Consent must be obtained in writing or by email from a legal guardian, and information shall be provided in a child-friendly manner

2. Items of Personal Information Processed

Personal information items are specified by type depending on the service and stage. Detailed items are clearly displayed on service screens or consent forms, in accordance with the “type-based description” principle of the relevant guidelines.

2.1 Website Member Information

  • Required Items: Name, nickname, email address, telephone number, mobile phone number, password (stored in encrypted form)
  • Optional Items: Consent to receive mailing services, consent to receive SMS, disclosure preference
  • Method of Collection: Provided during website registration

2.2 Automatically Collected Personal Information

  • Items Collected: IP address, cookies, access date and time, service usage records, access logs, records of improper use
  • Method of Collection: Automatically collected when using the website

2.3 Inquiry Information

  • Required Items: Name, affiliation (company or school name), email address, telephone number
  • Automatically Collected Items: Unique identification value (DI), IP address, cookies, service usage records

2.4 Sensitive Information / Unique Identification Information

In principle, the Company does not process sensitive information or unique identification information. If processing is unavoidable, separate consent and a legal basis will be obtained.


3. Retention and Processing Period of Personal Information

The Company retains and processes personal information within the period prescribed by relevant laws. In principle, personal information is destroyed immediately upon membership withdrawal; however, if retention is required by law, the information will be retained for the statutory period.

  • Member Information (Required/Optional): Until membership withdrawal (or until the statutory retention period expires, if applicable)
  • Automatically Collected Information: Until membership withdrawal or achievement of processing purpose
  • E-commerce Related Records
    • Contracts and subscription withdrawal records: 5 years
    • Payment and supply of goods records: 5 years
    • Complaint and dispute resolution records: 3 years
    • Credit information collection, processing, and use records: 3 years

Note: Even after membership withdrawal, personal information may be retained in accordance with applicable laws within the statutory retention period.


4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

In principle, the Company processes personal information only within the scope of the stated purposes and does not provide it to third parties without prior consent. Exceptions apply in the following cases:

  • When prior consent has been obtained from the data subject
  • When required by law or requested by investigative authorities in accordance with lawful procedures

5. Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and How to Exercise Them

5.1 Rights of Data Subjects

Data subjects may exercise the following rights regarding personal information at any time:

  • Request access to personal information
  • Request correction of errors
  • Request deletion
  • Request suspension of processing
  • Request transfer of personal information

5.2 How to Exercise Rights

Requests may be submitted in writing, by email, or by fax using the prescribed form under the Enforcement Rules of the Personal Information Protection Act. The Company will take action without delay (within 10 days).

5.3 Exercise of Rights Through a Representative

Rights may be exercised through a legal guardian or an authorized representative. In such cases, a power of attorney prescribed by law must be submitted.

5.4 Handling Requests for Correction or Deletion

Until correction or deletion is completed, the relevant personal information will not be used or provided.


6. Destruction of Personal Information

6.1 Principle of Destruction

Personal information is destroyed without delay once the processing purpose is achieved.

6.2 Destruction Procedure

Information entered by users is transferred to a separate database (or stored separately in the case of paper documents) after the purpose is achieved and retained for a certain period in accordance with internal policies and applicable laws, then destroyed. Such information is not used for any other purpose unless required by law.

6.3 Destruction Deadline

Personal information is destroyed within five (5) days in the following cases:

  • Upon expiration of the retention period
  • When it becomes unnecessary due to achievement of purpose, service termination, or business closure

6.4 Destruction Method

  • Electronic Files: Permanently deleted using irreversible technical methods (e.g., complete deletion, encryption)
  • Paper Documents: Shredded or incinerated

7. Installation, Operation, and Rejection of Automatic Data Collection Devices

7.1 Purpose of Cookie Use

The Company uses cookies to store and retrieve user information. Cookies are small text files sent by the website server to the user’s browser and stored on the hard drive.

Cookies are used for the following purposes:

  • Analysis of access frequency and visit time
  • Understanding user preferences and interests
  • Tracking participation in events and visit counts
  • Targeted marketing and personalized services

7.2 Refusal of Cookie Installation

Users may choose to allow or refuse cookies through browser settings.

10. Amendment of the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of December 18, 2025. Any additions, deletions, or corrections will be announced at least seven (7) days in advance via notices or email, and separate consent will be obtained where required.
